As our patients know, Hall & Butterfield Family Dentistry is a dental practice where caring for our patients and our community is a top priority. Our doctors and staff are active in the community in many ways outside of our supportive and compassionate office.
As Veterans Day approaches, we are on a mission to honor the men and women who have served our country. This year, we are supporting a very special non-profit just to the east of our office in beautiful Bluemont, VA. Boulder Crest Retreat is a gorgeous country retreat open to combat veterans and their families, allowing them to reconnect and heal, away from the stresses of everyday life.
Hall & Butterfield’s Veterans Day Drive For Boulder Crest
Our office is collecting donations large and small for Boulder Crest through November 17. We are offering our patients two easy ways to give, and donations of all sizes are welcome. First, we are collecting a range of donations right in our office. The retreat is in need of items from coffee and tea to notepads and stationery to card games and board games to cleaning supplies and beyond. Please call or visit our office for a complete list of items large and small. Everyone can contribute, and every patient who donates will be entered in a special Thanksgiving basket raffle valued at $100.
For folks who would like to make larger donations or prefer online giving, we are also participating in the Boulder Crest campaign at myregistry.com, which includes many terrific items to help make the veterans’ stays enriching and rewarding. Through this registry, our generous patients can donate anything from archery targets to fishing supplies and much more. To donate online, go to www.myregistry.com/public/bouldercrestregistry.
More About Boulder Crest Retreat
We couldn’t have picked a better charity to support on Veterans Day. From the moment we learned about Boulder Crest and its mission, we have been strong supporters. The retreat offers cabins that allow veterans and their families to take a break from day-to-day concerns, offering a fresh country air in a beautiful setting and helping rebuild their physical, emotional and financial well-being. Boulder Crest also offers veterans a peaceful place to reconnect with their families, with therapeutic activities including equine therapy and horseback riding, a labyrinth, play areas for children, walking trails, archery range, fishing pond and tipis for reflection and reconnection. We consider ourselves blessed to have this amazing organization right in our backyard, and what better time to show our support than on Veterans Day?
Community Counts At Hall & Butterfield
At Hall & Butterfield Family Dentistry, giving back military and first responders on Veterans Day– and all year long– is part of our overall philosophy of serving our community.
Our doctors are committed to community service in so many ways– both in and out of our practice. Dr. Hall volunteers as a paramedic/firefighter for Millwood Station Volunteer Fire And Rescue and teaches Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Medical Life Support, and paramedic courses. Dr. Hall served in the Air National Guard for 28 years and was the Chief of Dental Services at the 167th Airlift Wing Medical Group based in Martinsburg, WV. Dr. Hall has traveled all over the world as a member of the ANG, helping provide the best care to service members. He is also a longtime member of the Winchester Rotary Club where he continues to serve the community.
Dr. Butterfield volunteers at the Free Medical Clinic in downtown Winchester, offering dental services to local residents in need and helping fill the gaps that many low-income patients, including veterans, experience in dental care.
We know that many of our patients and their family members have served in the armed forces, and we are grateful for your service.
